Childhood Memories in Connecticut

Playing hide n seek in the winter snow

Childhood Memories in Connecticut

(For my friend…..
Deborah Tosun Kilday )

Children

Running amuk

Thriving deep in

Forest dwellings

Splendor in the in a maze of trees

Playing hide n seek in the winter snow

The footsteps always led us

Back

To each other

The Spring arrives

Upon Persophonie’s breath

Among the shadows of youth

Revisiting childhood ways

A pile of yesterdays

Only I live here again

Surrounded by the memories

That no longer

Exist

Anymore

Not to anyone else

Not to anyone that cares

Not to anyone left

That may or may not

Answer the phone

We lived

We die

But the energy of

Our innocence

Will

Remain within these trees

Forever
