The Riddler

Lion eyes
Pharaoh cowl

He
Stood staring
from the sands
Into
Ancient eyes
Watching

Warm
Arid wind
Cascaded across
His back
Through khaki
linen shirt
And
Trousers
His mind
Cycling through
Time

Eternal questions
Answered
without
Comprehension
Erected
In the
Age of Leo
A Hallmark
to those
In question

Lion eyes
Pharaoh cowl
Egyptian stoic
Expression
The desert song
Echoed
Miles
o’er dunes
Across the
Plains

Riddle me
That
Standeth
Before me
Call upon
My name
I am between
the paws
Of thee
What has
Thou to
Asketh of
My soul

“What lays inside you
Finds destiny at hand
Causes you to desire
And feel such pain

What holds the keys
To happiness
what drives
A man insane

Where is the voice
That calls to her
That makes you smile
And feel complete

What is it that you use
To navigate through
the possibilities to
Understand your fate

What is Strong
Yet soft and comforting
Both masculine
And feminine
In resolve

What grants desire
And fulfills dreams
And whole enough
To satisfy her All
In every way”

Fusia moon
In full bloom
‘neath majestic
midnight sky

A quandary rests
Upon the lips of a man
That knows the answer
Within the marrow of
His bones

One hundred fifty thousand years
The secret as fresh as when
The first capstone was lain
In Giza

He smiles
He nods
He tips his hat
He thinks of HER
and where She lives
Oh wise and sacred
Sphinx before me
It’s been my Heart
All along
